The Success Connection

From the Desk of Kara Stimpson, President and CEO

As we enter this new month, we are entering a new and exciting season at Helping People Succeed, and I invite you to come alongside us in any way that is meaningful to you.  Of notable interest are the following:

Our new 3-year Strategic Plan is fully operational now, and we have hit the ground running turning this into real action, all in service to providing the best care to those we serve.  Take a look at our goals and objectives here: Strategic Plan 2026-2028

With this plan, comes a brand new, refined Vision, Mission, Model, and Values.  Take a deeper look at those here.

Coming in April is a brand new logo and design, because realizing this new Vision, Mission, Model and Values involves a refreshed look at who we are, how we show up, and how we represent ourselves.

A brand new, streamlined and efficient Enrollment Process has been launched!  Anyone, whether making a referral or looking for services for themselves, can simply click here or visit our website and click “Request Services”.  Our new Enrollment Process ensures that every person being referred for or seeking services will receive a comprehensive and coordinated approach to their care.

In short, our work is about doubling down on why we exist as an agency which is this, expressed in our new mission statement: “to empower individuals of all ages and abilities – and their families – through comprehensive intervention and disability services promoting growth and belonging.”

If this is an area of your passion, I invite you to volunteer with us, to refer those who need us for services, to join me for a coffee chat to learn more about our work, or to come to an upcoming event or activity.

Thank you for being a supporter, a partner, and a believer in our vision of “building inclusive communities where individuals of all ages and abilities are empowered to reach their fullest potential and live meaningful, connected lives!”

Making an Impact

Congratulations Beth:  FL APSE Job Coach of the Year!!!

Beth was recognized at the Florida Association of People Supporting Employment First at the Collaboration Summit last Friday, February 27th.

Beth was nominated by Shannon Willson, the Director of Successful Futures. "Beth has served for 5 years with our agency and is an out-of-the-box thinker whose compassion, innovation, and relentless commitment to her clients make her an exceptional job coach and a true leader in the field. She represents the very best of what supported employment should be. For her outstanding dedication and measurable impact, Beth is highly deserving of recognition as Job Coach of the Year.”

Beth consistently goes above and beyond the expectations of her role, demonstrating unwavering dedication to the individuals she serves and an extraordinary commitment to helping them succeed—not only in employment, but in life.

Beth’s impact can be seen in the remarkable growth of individuals on her caseload. She approaches every person with patience, creativity, and the belief that they are capable of achieving meaningful independence. She doesn’t simply help clients obtain jobs—she helps them build confidence, develop essential life skills, and discover their own voice and potential.

For the tenth consecutive year, we have proudly sponsored a medical student from the Florida State University College of Medicine.

Summer Boltz from Florida State University - College of Medicine has successfully completed her medical rotation with us. During her time shadowing across all of our programs, she developed a comprehensive understanding of the services we provide. She demonstrated a strong interest in learning how our team's function, the communities we serve, and the measurable outcomes we have achieved. She also thoughtfully examined the challenges we encounter, posing insightful questions about barriers to care, care coordination, and areas for continued growth. Her engagement and curiosity helped her gain a well-rounded perspective on our mission and overall impact.

During the month of February, some home visits were full of color and creativity as our little artists made special Valentine’s Day keepsakes.  The activity balanced art, fine motor practice, and social-emotional expression.  Parents expressed how much fun they had creating not only the keepsake but the memory!

Our Adult Day Training participants were excited to hit the green in partnership with First Tee!

Creating inclusive opportunities like this allows the individuals we serve to build confidence, learn new skills, and enjoy meaningful experiences in our community.

If your organization is interested in partnering with us to create more inclusive learning opportunities or engaging outings, we would love to connect. Please email Shannon by clicking the link below to start the conversation!
