Pat Hoshino is a Long Island and Florida artist who started working in watercolors and instantly fell in love with the medium. After moving to Florida, she started painting in oils because she wanted to add more vibrant color and paint larger work.
She is a realistic painter who paints anything that excites her, whether it be flowers, landscapes, seascapes, wildlife or people. Most of her landscapes and seascapes are of New England (especially Maine), Long Island and Florida. She is known for her paintings of the chessmen in Washington Square Park as well as her favorite, “Golden Girls,” of three women sitting on a park bench in San Francisco. Her mission is to capture color and light and share the passion she feels for her subjects.
After moving to Florida in 2005, she became involved in a community birding group and actually lives on a rookery where thousands of birds come each night and leave each morning. It was only natural for her to start photographing and painting this amazing wildlife.
Pat is an artist member of the National Art League and Palm City Art Associates and has participated in many local and national shows and exhibits, including Saks Fifth Avenue, and has received numerous awards for her work. She maintains a studio in Palm City.
