Marian is an impressionistic artist specializing in landscapes, florals and architecture. She is a prolific painter whose distinctive style captures the essence of light and beauty through watercolors and oils. Marian has been painting her entire life and her work has been seen and sold in galleries and shows in Florida and her native New York. She studied painting at the Art Students League in Manhattan, Snug Harbor Cultural Center, the Elliott Museum, Alizarin Crimson Gallery in Stuart and has studied with Brenda Leigh for the last five years.
Marian grew up in a creative household in Staten Island, New York. She was the first person in her family to receive a college degree and graduated from the prestigious Hunter College in Manhattan. She went on to receive a master’s degree in counseling from the City University of New York. Her varied professional career took her from education to arts and entertainment. She is now retired and spends her time doting on her three grown children and their families, all of whom reside nearby in Stuart. She is a proud grandparent of eight and now a great grandmother with more to come. Musical and artistic talent run deep in this family and have been often recognized in the community.
Marian expresses herself through painting color and light and she loves to import her artistic knowledge. Throughout her lifetime, she has worn many hats – teacher, guidance counselor, actress and real estate broker. Painting is the only activity she can’t live without.
