Pamela is a native Floridian, painting in oil and watercolor. Music was Pamela’s first artistic outlet. After graduating from Florida State University, she began a career as a music educator in Virginia. Later she and her husband moved to Palm City to raise a family.
Pamela’s interest in integrating the arts led her to a drawing class and a serendipitous meeting with Caesar Cirigliano, who studied under George Groz and John Sloane of the Ashcan School. Through Mr. Cirigliano’s mentoring, Pamela discovered the magic of light and limited palette in her portraits and landscapes.
Seascapes are a natural subject for Pamela, and childhood memories of the Florida Panhandle are woven into her paintings. The beauty of Martin County is the basis of much of her work. Pamela’s watercolors and oils have been recognized in many juried shows and can be found in both private and corporate collections.
In 2016, Pamela began studying sculpture. Something about the unique tactile dimension of clay brought new inspiration for figurative pieces. She currently works in clay and cement. The garden setting of her home is the backdrop for life-size pieces; children of friends have inspired her smaller sculptures.
Pamela maintains a studio in Palm City where she gives lessons to both adults and children and hosts Treasure Coast Art Parties.
