Helping People Succeed Ends Its Annual Taste of Success International Wine Tasting

Helping People Succeed is discontinuing its annual Taste of Success International Wine Tasting, presented at Harbour Bay Plaza for 27 years. The annual event had been scheduled for Saturday, April 12, 2014.

Helping People Succeed President/CEO Suzy Hutcheson said the loss of Harbour Bay Gourmet and its coordination of the wine vendors and the sale of wine products changed the coordination of the event.

“With the closing of Harbour Bay Gourmet, the distributors were hesitant to participate in the wine tasting,” said Hutcheson. “While wine tasting was the object, Harbour Bay Gourmet offered the wine vendors a place that participants could purchase their wines year-round.”

Hutcheson continued, “For many years, Helping People Succeed provided the community an opportunity to learn about the taste and quality of many different varieties of wines. We thank our sponsors, wine and restaurant vendors and our many guests for their support. We also thank Harbour Bay Plaza for opening its community room and outside walkways for the tasting areas.”

Hutcheson indicated that a new event was being planned for the fall and would definitely include a chance to experience great wines. In addition, she offered sincere thanks to those who have volunteered their time, restaurants and caterers who provided food, Jewelry Design Center for auction items and Jeff Schagrin, former owner of Harbour Bay Gourmet, for his coordination of the event.
