Helping People Succeed Artists To Sign Calendars at the Backus Gallery

The signing will be Saturday, December 7 between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the gallery at 500 No. Indian River Drive in Fort Pierce. The calendars are $20 each. Proceeds from calendar sales and sponsorships will benefit the programs and services of Helping People Succeed, celebrating its 50th anniversary on the Treasure Coast in 2014.

The calendar artists include: Dennis Aufiery, Jane Blatt, Nanette Carton, Cristina de la Vega, Susan Fowler, Kevin Hutchinson, Julia Kelly, Valerie Lally, Dan Mackin, Pam Patterson, Nancy Smythe, Erin Weinberg and Theresa Woleslagle and cover artist and calendar designer Dave Basom. Each artist represents a different page in the 13-month calendar.

Helping People Succeed is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that serves 4,500 families in St. Lucie, Martin, Indian River and Okeechobee counties. Among its many programs are Baby Steps, Healthy Families, Music & Movement and Infant and Toddlers classes. The organization also serves adults with disabilities in finding employment and working on social and skills training. Most recently, Helping People Succeed coordinated after-school programs for students with autism spectrum disorder.

The annual Art for Living Calendar has benefitted Helping People Succeed for 16 years, with area businesses providing sponsor support. Southeastern Printing handles the design, printing and binding for the project.
