Helping People Succeed Is All Smiles, With New Offices and New Board Members
One of the first events in the new facility was Helping People Succeed’s Annual Meeting. The presentation of new officers comprise of Chairperson Bliss Browne, Vice Chairperson – Barbara Essenwine, Secretary – Melody Floyd and Treasurer – Kevin Burn. Board members include Lee Borellis, Cher Fisher, Joan Jefferson, Susan King, Claire Nash, Kelly Quinn and Carolyn Timmann – Honorary Board Member. The Foundation Board will consist of Chairperson Beth Prinz Lowy, Vice President Bonney Johnson and Secretary Mary Kay Buckridge and Claire Nash.
Special recognition was given to Kathy Skrzypczak. Kathy is the outgoing Chairperson and has served on the board for nine consecutive years. Other outgoing board members who were recognized were Beth Prinz Lowy and Tom Warner.
Individuals present were also recognized for their community service. They included Suellen Millroy – retired from the Hobe Sound Community Chest, Paul Nicoletti – former City of Stuart Manager, Ted Delancy – retired from the US Post Office (Stuart), and Peter Kemp – owner of Huston’s Office Supply. There was special volunteer recognition given to Philip Paxhia and Jose Vallecillo.
The move into the new building was well orchestrated. Employees who played an integral role in making this possible were also acknowledged at the Annual Meeting. They included Glenna Parris, Ken Dannewitz, Bob Wilt, Deb Tasy and Kelly Cuevas.
Carol Houwaart-Diez, the Executive Director of the Martin County United Way and guest speaker at the Annual Meeting, gave a personal testimonial of why the services of Helping People Succeed play an impactful role to all they serve.
