Kathy Derringer Receives Children’s Services Council of St. Lucie County Community Impact Award
In the decades during which Kathy Derringer has been lending her expertise to Helping People Succeed and the Treasure Coast as an advocate for families with young children, she’s garnered a number of important awards and commendations.
Derringer's division at Helping People Succeed includes Healthy Families – offering expectant parents or families with newborns parenting education and support through voluntary participation in personalized home visits and Baby Steps – offering a variety of services to children and families including a personal home visit to new parents, instruction on infant massage and baby calming techniques, socialization skills for infants and toddlers, and behavioral support services for families of two to five year olds, and more.
Kathy Derringer, Senior Vice President of the nonprofit’s Baby Steps program, relates a sense of gratitude for the recent distinction she received from the Children’s Services Council of St. Lucie County (CSCSLC).
“I am so honored to receive the Community Impact award from the Children’s Services Council of St. Lucie County”, said Derringer.
“It has been rewarding to manage parenting programs in St. Lucie County for the past 25 years. We are so lucky to have a funder like CSCSLC, that has its full focus on the health and welfare of children.”
Sean Boyle, Executive Director of Children’s Services Council of St. Lucie County added, "The Community Impact Award is given to those individuals who go above and beyond every single day for our community's children and families. I can't think of anyone more deserving than Kathy. We are honored to celebrate her commitment, dedication and hard work."
