Healthy Families
"My son and I entered the program September 2023. He was a wee newborn at the time. The first time we met our home visitor, we didn’t know what to expect. I had left my son’s father days beforehand so I was quite overwhelmed and scared. My home visitor has been incredibly patient and an excellent listener as I spilled my heart out appointment after appointment. My son is my youngest out of five total. I hadn’t had the custody of my other children at the time and my home visitor used creativity to include them in our visits. She created a safe space where I could be vulnerable and she would help me hold myself accountable. She has been so helpful and supportive every step of the way in my parenting journey, including leaving and staying out of domestic violence relationships. She has encouraged me to keep growing. I have transitioned from renting a room with just my son and I to now I’ve managed to rent a house and have full custody back of my other children. I affirm that my home visitor from healthy Families is a cornerstone of my accomplishments. Thank you!"
